Sample Weekly Toddler Menu

Well... here it is, this weeks complete menu for my 13 month old. I was amazed at how much I relied on this past weeks menu! At every meal time I found myself scurrying (yes, I actually scurried) over to my computer to see what I was supposed to feed my little boy. It took the stress away from figuring out what I could, or should, give him at each meal time! What a blessing!

I was also so excited to see and hear how much it helped so many of you! Please keep the comments coming! Truly I thrive on them! :) If you have any suggestions, I'm all eyes! :)

The dinners are the ones I have planned for our whole family. I'll just be cutting DS's up small or mixing with something else. Again I tried to keep things balanced according to what and how much DS should be eating.

Hope this helps inspire you! My Nutrition for Toddler's post is still to come today (unless things get out of control and I have to put it off till tomorrow). Check back to learn about strategies for getting our toddlers to eat!

* We are still testing out peanut butter. I will be watching him for reactions on Tuesday and will then decide if Sunday's selections need to be changed.

  2. Wow! Impressive. Would your kiddo go for some spinach in his eggs? I always throw a little frozen chopped spinach in the pan before scrambling my kids eggs. They love it and it is a great way to start their day with a leafy green vegetable!

  4. Instead of peanut butter, you can try almond butter. I just switched my kiddo to it a few weeks ago. I read it in one of my parenting magazines that it can be a healthier option for little tykes as it has more magnesium and zinc in it. Plus allergists say that peanut allergies can develop over time, especially if you have a family history of allergies.

  5. Thanks for the idea Donielle! That's a great idea... DH was allergic until a couple years ago, so I'm trying to be careful!

  6. I was wondering... if this isn't too personal... did you breastfeed your baby? And if so, for how long? If so, does he still get breastmilk mixed in with any of these other meals?

I ask because I am nursing my own dd, 5 months old, and am curious how to best add in table meals with the nursing when the time comes.

  7. Woah, I never thought about having DS try cottage cheese! What a protein/dairy I've missed!

Did you ever address Jennifer's question about adding in meals while nursing? If not, I have ideas -- esp. since I just did it. :-P
